GenYES Facilitator Weekly Message 9/13/18

Hi GenYES Facilitators,

Most of our returning and new GenYES schools are back in action for 2018-19. Welcome back!

This is the first message of a series of messages that you will receive during the school year. These messages will contain:

  • Announcements of new website features

  • Reports on how schools are using the GenYES curriculum and tools

  • Links to interesting sites and potential TAP projects

  • A TAP of the week featuring a unique TAP from a GenYES school

So….when you see an email from with a subject line GenYES Facilitator’s Weekly message, know that the content will contain information that will help you be a better Facilitator and save you time in the long run. We would appreciate it if you would give us a quick reply to this email saying you “got it” and giving us a brief message on how your year has started and if there is anything our nonprofit can do to help you succeed.

Setting GenYES Goals and Objectives
If you haven’t already done so, now is a good time to set your 2018-19 GenYES Goals and Objectives. There is a tool help with this. Log in to your school's GenYES site and click on the Learn link. There you will see the Toolkit on the right hand side of the screen. Now click on Startup Resources and you will see the “Goals and Objectives” template that you can download.

TAP of the Week
Here is our first 2018-19 TAP of the Week:

Title:Mrs. Weir Science Fair Posters
TAP Description:Mrs. Weir's science class is going to hold a science fair after school next month. She wants me to create some posters with the date, time, and description of the event. After I'm done, I'll post them in the library and in the halls.
TAP Accomplishments: I got all the information for the Science Fair from Mrs. Weir. I made a poster using Gimp then printed it with Mr. Holt's permission in the library. He also gave me permission to put the posters up in the library.
