GenYES Facilitator Weekly Message 10/18/18

Hi GenYES Facilitators,

Many of you have probably been going through Unit 2 in the GenYES Curriculum - DIgital Citizenship. This week is Digital Citizenship Week and educators worldwide are celebrating by joining the #DigCitCommit movement! Check out this website from our good friends at ISTE to see how you and your STLs can participate.

Verifying a TAP Complete
As promised in last week’s message, we are going to cover the very important Facilitator task of making an STL-Assessed TAP (blue) into a Verified Complete (green) TAP. Only Verified Complete TAPs count towards the hours of support your STLs have provided, the number of teachers they have helped, and GenYES Certification metrics.

To "Verify Complete" your blue TAPs, click on TAPs from the blue bar, then choose In Progress from the dropdown menu. On the TAPs In Progress page, sort the table by color.

This will bring all of your blue TAPs to the top of the page. From there, you can click the Verify Complete button on each blue TAP to finish the TAP process.

Additionally, if you want to read the contents of a TAP before Verifying it Complete, you can click on the name of any blue TAP and look through the TAP Description / STL Assessment. If you scroll to the bottom of the TAP form, there is a green Verify Complete button there for convenience.

To get an overview of the entire TAP process, download this PDF for more instructions with screenshots.

TAP of the Week

Today's TAP of the Week comes from George I. Sánchez Collaborative Community School. The 8th grade STL helped a teacher who couldn't access Google Sheets.

Title: Help Ms. Yvonne
TAP Description: Ms.Gallindo asked me to go help Ms.Yvonne log into Google Sheets.
TAP Accomplishments: I went to Ms.Yvonne's classroom and I helped her log into Google Sheets, she also asked me to bookmark Google Sheets so she could return to it anytime. Lastly, I explained how to use Google Sheets and she thanked me.
